Desktop Support Engineer
Huddersfield, £28,000 - £35,000 PermanentPyramid8 are recruiting for a global fast paced organisation for a Desktop Support Engineer. We are after a self-motivated, organised and outgoing individual who can be the first line contact for IT Support for the group IT Systems. You will possess a good knowledge of common computer applications, current PC operating systems and a range of IT hardware and software to provide basic advice and support. This is an ideal position for an experienced 1st line support looking to progress to their next position and further their development.
Our client works with some highly prestigious clients, and they are constantly growing and evolving, you will be alle to work in a fast-paced environment and have strong communication skills to build both internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Respond and provide professional service on the helpdesk for technical issues and track the progress of reported issues.
- Log and maintain all helpdesk tickets.
- Maintain correspondence with users and 3rd
- Desktop support and new equipment rollout.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers and raise PO’s where necessary.
- Work with 3rd Party support companies.
- Active directory, creating users and amending users.
- Ad hoc travel requirements both nationally and internationally.
- Set up and maintain mobile devices.
- Maintain and track licence usage.
- Provide set up of company hardware e.g. thin clients, laptops, printers etc
- Local network, Wi-Fi set up.
- Asset management and tracking
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
- Previous 1st and 2nd line IT Support experience.
- Knowledge of MS Products, Windows operating Systems – Desktop and Server, AD/Exchange, Terminal Server, Group Policy, Anti-Virus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external personnel throughout projects.
- Experience in telephone support and remote access.
- Microsoft 365 Admin experience essential
- Solid understanding of Information Security principles and ISO27001
- Experience in laptop setups and printer installations.
- Understanding of LAN, WI-FI, VPNs, lease lines.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Datto RMM
- Understanding of video conferencing facilities.
- Understanding of IP phone systems, iPECS preferred, but not essential.
- MDM (Mobile Device Management) experience would be advantageous.
- MAC experiences essential.
- Able to work on own initiative and maintain solid performance under pressure; able to work with limited supervision.
- Excellent organisational skills, focused and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in an ever changing, fast paced environment.
- Must be a proactive thinker with the ability to identify recommendations and develop ideas to deliver improvements.
- Full clean drivers licence.
