Lead Tester

My client is a successful and well-established business supplying a unique technology-based product/solution to the public and private sectors. They now require an experienced Lead Tester to join the team and support the next phase of growth for the company.

As a Lead Tester you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the testing process, from test planning to execution and reporting. Your leadership and expertise will ensure that our products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.  You will work closely with our solution architect and developers to ensure tests are fit for purpose and provide adequate coverage.

As Lead Tester, you’ll be responsible for:

• Creating test plans
• Testing of components as part of a wider product set
• Understanding of technical business requirements and processes to refine/ define test strategies/ plans with continual review of scope and testability
• Helping maintain, develop, and communicate the test strategy
• Working with the wider software architect team to review test requirements, help develop a testable architecture and maintain efficiency
• Lead and manage the team to allow for successful solution delivery

Required Skills:

• 2 + years’ experience as a Test Manager/Lead Tester/Head Tester or similar role, with a track record of successfully delivering high-quality software products
• Strong sense of ownership and drive to follow tasks through to completion
• Experience writing test plans
• People Leadership, coaching and mentoring of Test Engineers in industry best practices
• Experience with web and desktop applications
• Experience in automation testing
• Proven analytical skills in designing and implementing tests & test frameworks for functional and non-functional test activities
