Pyramid8 are working with a Life Science Business in Sheffield for a R&D Manager to join their team.  As an R&D Manager, you will lead and manage the execution of multiple hardware development projects within the organisation, based out of their Sheffield offices. Your role as R&D Manager will include project planning, monitoring, and reporting while adhering to quality standards. Based at our Sheffield head office, you will also provide leadership to the R&D team, establishing and overseeing team goals, and efficiently allocating resources to achieve project objectives whilst reporting into the Group R&D Director. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordination of simultaneous hardware development projects within the company
  • Developing project plans and facilitating the follow-up activities of project scope, milestones and deliverables in accordance with the company hardware design procedure
  • Managing the project plans, expenditure, timeline and deliverables
  • Monitoring and reporting on the status of the project progress to stakeholders
  • Co-ordinating and recording monthly Group design reviews
  • Presenting periodic summary reports on project progress, risks, problems and solutions
  • Implementing changes to project plans where necessary to achieve objectives
  • Co-ordinating with other teams and stakeholders, e.g. Production, Service, Sales
  • Working in an ISO9001:2015 environment
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the R&D team
  • Setting and monitoring clear team goals and objectives

 

Requirements

  • Degree in physical sciences or engineering
  • Previous experience in technical project management desirable – hardware and/or embedded software
  • Experience of production and implementation of requirements and technical specifications
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Project management tools, e.g. MS Project
  • Monitoring of and reporting on projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Planning and organizing and Problem solving
  • Customer-focused
  • Previous experience of managing a team would be advantageous

Previous experience of CAD would be advantageous
